Ethiopian Culture and Music

Addis Mediterranean & Ethiopian Restaurant is a favorite for the uniqye food, for both vegans & meat lovers with its authentic Ethiopian food served with Injera (the Ethiopian flat bread) that eaten with fingertips or your hands or with rice and pita bread option.

Music is a part of everyday life in Ethiopia. Folk songs are generally sung and played at festivals and other joyous occasions such as weddings. Ethiopian music instruments are very unique such as begenna or harp, the 5 to 6 strings krar, single stringed Masinko and Washint a reed flute.

In church Christian music is sung with instruments such as kabaro or a drum make of wood and animal hide, and masinqo, which is a single-stringed violin.

In observance of some Ethiopian holidays we bring cultural band/singers to perform in our restaurant.
